Class began the normal way. Students completed a WA that had them reviewing grammar concepts such as dialogue punctuation, number rules, homophones, and capitalization – all skills that will show up on the grammar assessment in May.
After going over that sentence, students moved into notebook thinking. They were invited to write about the prompt below. I also suggested they could write about their own babysitting experiences or their weekends.
After writing, I reminded students of their vocabulary quiz tomorrow, and we reviewed by spending ten minutes in three different stations – all geared to helping students review the weekly words vocabulary they have had since the beginning of the year.

Station 3 – Quizlet
After finishing the review, I previewed the last few book choices students have for literature circles. They will do some final research tomorrow before making their final choices.
